Police Blotters – February 2008

Behold, the past month of strange calls to the police, as documented by a small foothill town’s newspaper.

  • 11:26 a.m. – A doctor called to report a domestic violence incident. Someone threw a two-pound ceramic pig at a male, causing him to bleed. The person also allegedly threatened to throw the pig harder next time. A deputy contacted the doctor and would attempt to contact the alleged victim.
  • 2:34 p.m. – A caller from a residential facility reported a 66-year-old man smeared feces on an 85-year-old man. The caller did not want to make a report at the time.
  • 10:21 a.m. – A caller reported a man wrapped in a gray blanket was pointing a stick at people and acting like it was a gun.
  • 9:54 a.m. – A man called saying someone had stuck a dead rooster in his mailbox Wednesday.
  • 6:57 a.m. – A caller from a school reported someone went on campus the previous night and defecated at the school’s front entrance. It was the second time this had happened.
  • 5:26 p.m. – A man reported a sick skunk on his front porch.
  • 4:29 p.m. – A woman called to report a juvenile urinated on her vehicle, possibly on Saturday night. The urine was on the passenger’s door and window.
  • 10:01 p.m. – A man in the police station lobby reported finding what appeared to be methamphetamine in front of a business. Police determined the substance was not meth, it was an emergency snakebite kit.
  • 3:33 p.m. – A caller reported a suspicious-looking man was dancing in the street and undressing. Police determined there was no crime. The man was moving on.
  • 8:33 a.m. – A caller from a store reported a suspicious-looking man was sucking on gas nozzles and scaring customers and employees. He was wearing white-and-black polka dot pajamas. Police arrested the man on suspicion of trespassing and booked him into jail. The jail would not accept the man, and he was released to the custody of Behavioral Health Services for an evaluation at the hospital emergency room.
  • 8:56 p.m. – A woman called to report someone went into her kitchen, removed items from the refrigerator and set them on the counter.
